Installing RezOvation GT on a network
Before beginning, you should confirm that the main computer (sometimes called the "server" - this is the computer that hosts the database) and remote computers (sometimes called the "client") meet the minimum system requirements.
You will to first install RezOvation GT on the main computer (server) before the network clients will be able to connect to the database.
Automatic Method
- Install RezOvation GT on the main computer.
- Enter your network license key by selecting Help > About and selecting the link to add users. If you do not have a network license key, please contact the sales team to purchase a key.
- Download and run the Network Installation Wizard.
- Add user accounts under Configuration > Software Settings > Users for each user that you have. If you wish, you can restrict the user access level by selecting the appropriate options.
Note: creating user accounts is not required if you do not wish to track users.
Manual Method
- Install RezOvation GT on the main computer.
- Enter your network license key by selecting Help > About and selecting the link to add users. If you do not have a network license key, please contact the sales team to purchase a key.
- Install the clients as follows:
- Install the .NET 2.0 Framework if it is not present. This is required to run RezOvation GT.
- Create a folder on the client called RezOvation GT. This folder can be located anywhere on the client, but is typically located on the C:\ drive under Program Files, e.g.
C:\Program Files\RezOvation\RezOvation GT\
- Go to the server and open C:\Program Files\RezOvation\RezOvation GT\System Files
- Copy RezOvationGT.exe to the RezOvation GT folder on the client
- Right-click on RezOvationGT.exe and select Send To > Desktop (create shortcut)
- Right-click on the desktop shortcut you just created and select Properties. Select the Shortcut tab, and select the Target box. Enter the server name and port number after the Target address in the format:
SERVERNAME:PORT
where SERVERNAME = the computer name of the main computer and PORT = 7412. It should look like this:C:\Program Files\RezOvation\RezOvation GT\RezOvationGT.exe SERVER:7412
- Add user accounts under Configuration > Software Settings > Users for each user that you have. If you wish, you can restrict the user access level by selecting the appropriate options.

Launching client link to server
- Launch the shortcut on the client and verify that it can connect to the server.
- If you have problems connecting, check the shortcut address to confirm that it is correct, and make sure that if you have a firewall on either the client or the server, you allow access to TCP port 7412.
- Add user accounts under Configuration > Users for each user that you have. If you wish you can restrict the user access level by selecting the appropriate options.
- Note that creating user accounts is not required if you do not wish to track users.
