Install secure network software
The first step in remotely accessing RezOvation GT is to set up a secure network using software known as VPN (virtual private network). This software allows you to set up a secure "tunnel" between your main computer and remote computer(s). The secure tunnel is private between the main and remote computers, and cannot be accessed by anyone who does not have authorization.
We recommend Hamachi, which is fast and only around $40 / year.
Main computer
- Download Hamachi here: https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/list.asp. Download the Windows version. Note: other versions such as Mac and Linux versions are available. However, RezOvation support is unable to assist you with installing or configuring these versions.
- Install Hamachi on your main computer (the computer that has RezOvation GT installed on it). When prompted, choose the option for Evaluate Hamachi Commercial.
- Press the Power button. When prompted, enter the name of your computer (e.g. Hill Country - Main PC).
- Press the Create or join networks button and select Create a new network. When prompted, enter the name of your network (e.g. Hill Country), and enter your network password. You should use a secure password that is not easy to guess.
Remote computer
- Download Hamachi here: https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/list.asp. Download the Windows version.
- Install Hamachi on your remote computer (the computer that will be connecting to RezOvation GT over the internet). When prompted, choose the option for Evaluate Hamachi Commercial.
- Press the Power button. When prompted, enter the name of your computer (e.g. Hill Country - Remote PC 1).
- Press the Create or join networks button and select Join an existing network. When prompted, enter the name of your network (e.g. Hill Country), and enter your network password.
- You will now be connected to the private network that you have created, and your main PC computer will appear in the Hamachi network window.
- Right-click on the main PC from the Hamachi network window and choose "copy address". You will need this information in the step below.
Install RezOvation GT
Before beginning, you should confirm that the main computer (sometimes called the "server" - this is the computer that hosts the database) and remote computers (sometimes called the "client") meet the minimum system requirements.
You will need to first install RezOvation GT on the main computer (server) before the network clients will be able to connect to the database.
Main computer
- Install RezOvation GT on the main computer.
- If you plan to use RezOvation GT with multiple simultaneous users, you will need to enter a network license key. Launch RezOvation GT and enter your network license key by selecting Help > About and selecting the link to add users. If you do not have a network license key, please contact the sales team to purchase a key.

- Add user accounts in RezOvation GT under Configuration > Software Settings > Users for each user that you have. If you wish, you can restrict the user access level by selecting the appropriate options. Note: creating user accounts is not required if you do not wish to track users.
Remote computer
- Download and run the Network Installation Wizard.
- When prompted, type or paste in the address of the main PC, which you obtained in the step above for installing Hamachi on the remote PC. Typically, this address is a number such as 5.125.22.555.
- When the install has completed, a shortcut to RezOvation GT will be created on the desktop. Double-click this shortcut to launch RezOvation GT. Note: the first time you launch RezOvation GT, there may be a slight delay as RezOvation GT copies the necessary files from the main PC.
