The Booking Engine has a built-in feature to provide trip insurance to guests via Access America, a leading provider of trip insurance services. This feature is enabled by default, and can be disabled by contacting us.
How does it work?
Guests on your website will automatically see a box like the one below on the final page of the checkout process offering them cancellation insurance. If they choose to purchase cancellation insurance thinformation will be shared with Access America, which will issue the insurance policy. You will earn $3.75 every time someone on your website purchases the insurance, paid at the end of each year to each property via check. You will have no work to do, and can discontinue the program at any time.
Why offer trip insurance?
When travelers are offered trip insurance, it's easier for you to implement your cancellation policies since the guests had an option to purchase low-cost insurance.
How does a guest file a claim?
To file a claim the guest should:
- Contact you to cancel the reservation.
- Obtain cancellation info from you, including a breakdown of all fees charged.
- Submit their claim to Access America by contacting them at 1-877-445-4118. The guest should reference their policy information, which they received from Access America when they purchased the policy.
Other than providing information about cancellation charges, you do not need to be involved in the claims process.
Can insurance coverage be refunded after it is purchased?
Yes, Access America offers a 10-day satisfaction guarantee. The guest should contact Access America at 1-877-445-4118 within 10 days of purchasing insurance to obtain a refund.
