CheckPoint has a few different version of its popular software suite called ZoneAlarm.
The free version provides a firewall application that is not very user manageble. Everything in this version is basically locked from the user. Users can either add or block a program. There is limited configuration options in this version.
ZoneAlarm Pro is a paid for product and is unlocked from the free version. The Pro version has extra options for the firewall including advanced configuration settings for programs and websites.
The ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite incorporates a virus protection program to the firewall application.
The software will monitor both local network activity as well as activity to/ from the Internet. Network users will need to configure ZoneAlarm to allow local connections to other PCs located on the network.

Configuring firewall for automatic access
By default when a program tries to access the Internet or LAN, ZoneAlarm will prompt the user for permission to access the Internet/LAN for that program.
If you see a prompt asking for permission to access the Internet / LAN for a RezOvation related application:
- Click Remember this setting.
- Click on Allow
- ZoneAlarm will now add the RezOvation program to the firewall list and will not prompt you again if the RezOvation program attempts to access the network again.
Configuring for RezOvation Desktop
This will go thru the firewall configuration for RezOvation Desktop users. Following the steps below will give RezOvation full access to the network and Internet.
- Open ZoneAlarm from the Start Menu
- Navigate to the Firewall tab
- Under the Zones tab, goto Add
- Select Host/Site
- Select Trusted and enter in the details for any site RezOvation may connect to
- IE. rezovation.net, webervations.com, authorize.net, innlink.com, etc...
- Click OK to save
- Repeat steps 3~6 until all sites are entered
- Navigate to the Program Control tab
- Under the Programs tab, goto Add
- Browse to the location where RezOvation is installed and open RezOvation.exe
- Under the Programs tab, highlight the RezOvation application
- Click on Options to define permissions for RezOvation
- Under the Security tab, enable the following options
- This program may use other programs to access the Internet
- Allow Application Interaction
- Enable Outbound E-mail Protection for this program
- Authenticate Components
- Click on Apply then OK
- On the Programs tab, highlight the RezOvation application
- Left-click on the Trust Level column and select Super
- Left-click on the Access column and select Allow for both Trusted and Internet
- Left-click on the Server column and select Allow for both Trusted and Internet
- Left-click on the Send Mail column and select Allow
- RezOvation is now configured to pass thru the firewall
Configuring for RezOvation GT
This will go thru the firewall configuration for RezOvationGT users. Following the steps below will give RezOvationGT full access to the network and Internet.
- Open ZoneAlarm from the Start Menu
- Navigate to the Firewall tab
- Under the Main tab, goto Internet Zone Security, click on the Custom button
- Navigate to the Program Control tab
- Under Internet Zone, Enable Allow incoming TCP ports: & Allow outgoing TCP ports:
- Enter any ports used by RezOvation that are not already opened
- GT uses the following ports: 7412,7413,80,443,25,26,465,587(TLS)
- Click on Apply and OK
- Under the Zones tab, goto Add
- Select Host/Site
- Select Trusted and enter in the details for any site RezOvation may connect to
- IE. secure.rezovation.com, webervations.com etc...
- Click OK to save
- Repeat steps 3~6 until all sites used are entered
- Navigate to the Program Control tab
- Under the Programs tab, goto Add
- Browse to the location where RezOvationGT is installed and open RezOvation.exe
- Under the Programs tab, highlight the RezOvationGT application
- Click on Options to define permissions for RezOvationGT
- Under the Security tab, enable the following options
- This program may use other programs to access the Internet
- Allow Application Interaction
- Enable Outbound E-mail Protection for this program
- Authenticate Components
- Click on Apply then OK
- On the Programs tab, highlight the RezOvation application
- Left-click on the Trust Level column and select Super

- Repeat steps 13~23 and add the following exectables:
- c:\program files\rezovation\rezovation gt\rezovationgt.exe (client and server)
- c:\program files\rezovation\rezovation gt\system files\rezovationgt.exe (server)
- c:\program files\rezovation\rezovation gt\system files\RezOvationAdmin.exe (server)
- c:\program files\rezovation\rezovation gt\system files\rezovationpropertymanager.exe (server)
- RezOvationGT is now configured to pass thru the firewall
Configuring the firewall for network access
The following information is provided for reference purposes only. Please note that RezOvation support cannot assist with network configuration. For more assistance with network configuration, please contact Zonealarm support.
This will go through some basic firewall configurations to allow computers on a Local area connection (LAN) to connect to each other.
- Open ZoneAlarm from the Start Menu
- Navigate to the Firewall tab
- Under the Zones tab, goto Add
- Select IP Range
- Select Trusted and enter in the details for your local network
- IE. The range depends on your network configuration
- Typically the IP begins with 192.168.x.x
- Typically the Subnet Mask should be 255.255.255.0
- Click OK to save
- The PC should now have access to any PC on the network
- This is needed for users using RezOvation over a network
Disabling Firewall
Temporarily disable
- Right-click on the ZoneAlarm icon in the system tray.
- Select Shutdown ZoneAlarm Security Suite
- To re-enable firewall, restart the computer
Permanently disable
- Open ZoneAlarm from the Start Menu
- Navigate to the Firewall tab
- Under the Main tab, goto Internet Zone Security, move the scroll bar to OFF
- Under the Main tab, goto Trusted Zone Security, move the scroll bar to OFF
- Navigate to the Program Control tab
- Under the Main tab, goto Program Control, move the scroll bar to OFF
- Under the Main tab, goto SmartDefense Advisor, move the scroll bar to OFF
- Apply the changes and exit ZoneAlarm
